This castle, which was built at the end of the th century (1664-1684), was set up at the end of the th century and was designed to defend the port of Town.
Its base, as it was used, is a star and its empty moat… have always been because of an error by the architect! It has three characteristic architectural elements: the coast battery which includes twelve oxidized cannons pointing to the bay, the water reserve and an external access supported by chains that allowed the entry and exit of the troops as in the medieval period. The fort now houses a small museum of painting and sculpture. Take a look at the church del Cristo del Buen Viaje (Christ du Bon Voyage) and the old customs which now houses Fondene, the State tourist office.
