Thomas Merle Wilfried's son has always marked the minds of the peninsula. Born in Carupano in 1967, his permanent contact with the nature of the peninsula forged his jovial character. He has invested throughout his life in the education of young people. On September 12, 1992 he left life in an airplane accident. Its ideas and projects have survived through a foundation that bears its name and today allows scholarships to fund the studies of disadvantaged young people coming from rural areas.
