Of Normandy, the Colchester Castle was built in 1080, on the location of a former Roman temple, where nothing remains. Today it contains a collection of pottery, arms, mosaics, Roman and Saxons objects, products of excavations carried out in the vicinity. A few remains of the th century and th, th and th centuries books complete the Archaeological Museum. The garden is rich in roses and magnolias.
