One of Cambridge's most famous pubs, with certainly the best views and the best location. We go there above all for its incredible terrace overlooking the River Cam, and for its wide selection of beers. Beware: at around 10pm, the waiters ask you - more or less sympathetically - to come inside. Try it early in the evening, then, to take full advantage of the setting, right on the banks of the river. And on sunny days. Syd Barrett of Pink Floyd is said to have been a regular at the bar. He even played there.
