Right in the center of Canterbury, and in the same superb building that houses the tourist office, The Beaney House is home to a library and a small art and heritage museum. Paintings, period objects and collections relating to the region's history are all on display, but there's also a wing devoted to temporary exhibitions. After exploring the town's heritage, this is an interesting and free cultural stop-off.
