On the seafront, this must-see art gallery takes its name from its location, which was once the home of J.M.W. Turner in Margate. In 2024, the museum celebrates the 250th anniversary of Turner's birth. Although Turner, who was greatly inspired by the skies and light of Margate, is sometimes in the spotlight, the exhibitions are varied, ever-changing and always of the highest quality. Some major artists are exhibited here, so be sure to check the program. We also love the view from the little café and the museum store, full of little souvenirs.
