RICHBOROUGH STRONG NOVEL
Located north of Sandwich, these ruins are those of an ancient Roman fort, one of the first in the country, built shortly after the invasion of Britain on the site of the landing of Emperor Claudius' Roman troops. It was used throughout the occupation, from 43 to 410, and traces of an amphitheatre are also still present. Today, little remains of the entire site, but a visit here allows you to immerse yourself in the ancient history of Kent and England, with a little imagination. You can see some superb sunsets here.
