The Ypres Tower was built in 1249 to defend the town of Rye. Medieval pottery, maps and weapons can be found here, which trace the history of the soldiers in medieval times. The place was used both as a castle and a prison. A second site on East Street has a comprehensive exhibition on the history of Rye, some of which focuses on the periods of the two World Wars. Interesting for those who love history.

Weather permitting, the castle and its tower are worth a visit. Nice view and superb photos to be taken.
