Built in 1760, this hotel is within walking distance of the cathedral and the college, a more than ideal location. The building was once called "The Fleur de Lys" but was renamed for patriotic reasons during the Napoleonic War in favour of William Wykeham, founder of Winchester College. The rooms, situated above the pub, have excellent insulation. They are peaceful and charming and provide a typical English stay in the heart of historic Winchester. This is one of our local favourites.
