The Winchester Museum tells the story of the town's vast history, from Roman occupation to the present day, via the Normans and Saxons. Focusing on the human aspect, we learn more about the different societies, their way of life, their activities, the rise of the city and its influence. A large scale model of the city is also on display. It's the perfect place to start a visit to Winchester and the surrounding area with its history firmly in mind. The tour is highly educational and the museum is particularly well organized.
