THE KEEP MILITARY MUSEUM

Housed in the town's imposing grey stone fort, built around 1880, this military museum traces the history of Devon and Dorset's infantry, cavalry and artillery. Uniforms, weapons and medals help to explain the life of the troops and their operations over the years. From the battlements, you can also enjoy fine views over Dorchester and the surrounding countryside. It's an interesting place, as much for its architecture and location as for the collections on display. It gives us a better understanding of certain historical aspects of the region.
