NOTHE FORT
Built at the tip of the Nothe Peninsula which forms part of Weymouth Harbour, this beautiful defensive structure built in 1860 was abandoned in 1956 before being acquired by the town in 1961. It is now a museum and remains one of the best preserved forts in the country. During the visit one discovers the history of the site and the life of the soldiers who occupied it with numerous texts and precise descriptions. A great discovery for lovers of naval and maritime history! The setting is also worth the detour.
