A LA RONDE
This 16-sided house was built in 1796 for two cousins, Jane and Mary Parminter, inspired by their travels and especially by their passion for the Byzantine Basilica of Ravenna. It overlooks the Exe estuary and its period decoration displays souvenirs brought back from a grand tour of Europe: feathers, shells, seaweed, sand and glass. This is what they wanted to found, a house of memories. The authenticity is real, with costumes from the Victorian and Regency periods available for visitors who wish to change their style.
