On the other side of the river Exe, this castle is the occasion of a really interesting historical visit. Its construction began in 1390, but modifications were made until 1794. The furnishings seem to be very recently arranged and this really gives the impression of a lively place: the music room and the large hall are in the state they were in when the Courtenays lived there. Another point of interest is that the building was chosen as the set for the film Les Vestiges du jour. Feel free to take a guided tour.
