Built in 1874 by the American millionaire Isaac Merritt Singer - the brand of Singer sewing machines, the building is of French and Italian influence. At the beginning of the th century it was transformed by singer Singer, Paris, to resemble the Palais de Versailles. For the little story, Singer singer lived with two famous women: Isaac married Isabelle Boyer, the model of the Statue of Liberty, and Paris married Isadora Duncan, a dancer whose tragic death made her even more known.
