Let's board! Moored in Brixham harbor, this ship is a life-size replica of Francis Drake's, the first Englishman to circumnavigate the globe from west to east, in 1577. An explorer, slaver and privateer, he was knighted and distinguished himself in the war against Spain. He sailed on the Golden Hind from 1577 to 1580, taking 80 men to conquer the oceans, only 56 of whom returned. On board, we learn that the carpenter is the most indispensable man, and is therefore always protected in case of attack.
