Plymouth is a city shaped by sea, trade and war, and nowhere is this more evident than in the historic Barbican district. The distinctive single-storey glass building on the waterfront was once the old fish market (now relocated across the harbor) and has been imaginatively converted into a quality shopping attraction. From the paved area, visitors can enjoy magnificent views of the harbor and the boats.
