MONKEY SANCTUARY
Founded in 1964, Monkey Sanctuary is the only reserve in the world of woolly monkeys, which is the only place where the species has been able to survive outside the Amazon rainforest. The sanctuary was created to collect captured and imported monkeys to entertain zoos or individuals in poor exoticism and domestic company.
What do they propose ? Volunteers do not have direct contact with monkeys to preserve both species! However, different tasks await them at the Shrine: reception and shop, preparation of food for monkeys, maintenance of their habitats and site in general.
Where ? Great Britain.
Profile and conditions. It takes 18 years and a good knowledge of English. Volunteers are all housed in a house on the site and meals are provided. The journey is at your disposal. Stays last between 2 and 4 weeks. Some volunteers will be invited to stay longer and will then work in contact with monkeys.
