Falmouth Castle was built between 1540 and 1542, during the reign of Henry VIII, to defend the south coast from French and Spanish attack. Its 450-year history is told on site. Over the centuries, its strategic position made it a bastion of British defense during both world wars, and this past is still very much alive. Throughout the year, Pendennis Castle hosts a variety of events, including historical re-enactments and shows.
