Opposite Pendennis Castle, St Mawes Castle lies on the other side of Falmouth Harbour, on the Roseland Peninsula. To reach it, cross the Roseland Peninsula, or take the King Harry Ferry across the River Fall north of Falmouth (www.falriver.co.uk). The building was constructed between 1539 and 1545 and features the same Tudor architecture as its neighbor. Also very well preserved, its dungeons, cannon room and views over the region from its keep are highlights of the visit.
