Lizard Point is the most southerly point in Britain, making it a must-see in Cornwall. It gives the impression of having arrived at the end of the world. The cliffs aren't the highest in the region, but there's a certain charm about it, not least thanks to its 18th-century lighthouse. It's on this ocean-defying piece of land that the finishes of Atlantic crossing record attempts are judged, starting from New York. Don't forget your binoculars for seal and cormorant watching on the way!
