Located at the end of Gay Street, The Circus is the masterpiece of architect John Wood (Sr.). It consists of 30 houses lined up in a circle. Famous people have taken up residence here: at random, the names of the painter Gainsborough, the politician William Pitt, or the writer David Livingstone can be read on commemorative plaques. Brock Street connects the square to the Royal Crescent. Designed by John Wood (son), it was the glory of Bath in Georgian times.

très impressionnant par sa taille
très beau bâtiment et gigantesque par sa longueur , difficile de prendre une jolie photo car voitures garées devant et quand nous y étions une installation pour des festivités était en cours sur la pelouse devant le bâtiment

Le royal crescent est exactement comme dans les films adaptés des romans de Jane Austen, c'est magnifique. La maison du n° 1 se visite. Toute la demeure est richement meublée et décorée du sous-sol au toit. Cela permet vraiment de s'immerger et de s'imaginer à l'époque décrite. Il y a également des guides écrits en français et gratuits. Un site très intéressant.

Deux places un peu excentrées du centre-ville. Pour leur grandeur, leur originalité et leur architecture, il faut y aller (ça monte un peu !).
