On the banks of the Avon River, this 13th century Gothic style church houses the baptismal font where poet and playwright William Shakespeare (1564) and his daughters were baptized, as well as the tombstones under which they are buried. The playwright rests with his wife Anne Hathaway and daughter Susanna Hall. A must for readers on pilgrimage. More than 200,000 visitors visit it every year. Beautiful collection of stained glass windows and pulpits. A very beautiful place, full of history.
