CITY MUSEUM AND ART GALLERY
The largest collection of faïence and porcelain in Stoke-on-Trent is gathered here. The museum also enriched its collections with parts from Staffordshire Hoard, a Anglo-Saxon treasure trove discovered in 2009 by a man walking with his metal detector! More archaeological excavations were carried out on the site and excavated 1 500 gold and silver coins. This fabulous th century treasure includes processional crosses, armor and war ornaments. The booty was distributed between the British Museum in London, the Birmingham Museum & Art Pottery and the Stoke-on-Trent Museum.
