This friendly museum presents the city through the activities that made its prosperity and the most important events in its history. These include salt and cheese, two products very clean in Cheshire. Tools and archives at the time make the all didactic and a 700-year-old boat recalls how one worked in salt marshes in the region. A room dedicated to the Battle of Nantwich of 1644 explains the role of the city in the conflict between parliamentarians and royalist during the first English civil war.
