YE OLDE TRIP TO JERUSALEM
Located at the foot of the rock supporting the castle, it is one of the oldest pubs in the United Kingdom. It opened its doors in 1189 and it is a real attraction on its own. One would sometimes think that there are more people sitting at the table here having a drink than visiting the many museums in the city... Old wine cellars dug in sandstone are now niches where you can enjoy a beer and relax. Students, locals and tourists all flock to this troglodytic refuge that brews its own beer, the Olde Trip, and sells its T-shirts. An institution! Nice terrace at the foot of the castle.
