THE DIG
Opened in 2006 by the York Archeological Trust, this museum explains the various techniques for archaeological research and the preparation of excavations. The visitor himself is experimenting with the excavation of several sites. The archaeologist remains in front of the archaeologist who rebuilt the story from a fragment of bones, tool or crockery. You are told how the objects speak, how their surfaces and their brands are true "material footprints" from bygone times. However, attention: a correct level of English is required, otherwise the visit loses much of its interest.
