A real nugget, on the edge of the Northern quarter, and it's an eccentric strand, but it's really worth a detour if you're beer lovers. This pub depends on the Mancunienne brewery Mancunienne, which was still there until 2011. There are a dozen beers in Manchester in a retro and fairly alternative setting, in a pretty listed building. A second, smaller and more recent address opened at 57 Thomas Street: beer is served there from drums at the bar, and chess games are available to guests.
