THE LOWRY
Opened in 2000 by Queen Elizabeth II, this impressive design building houses two theatres, a gallery and several bars and restaurants. He is dedicated to the painter named Laurence Stephen "L.S." Lowry, who lived in Manchester at the beginning of the th century. As a rent collector, the latter has long surveyed and observed the city, before reproducing the scenes of life: children who play in the streets, workers who come back from work, football stadium one day match, markets… His paintings describe with some strangeness the fourmillante atmosphere that reigned in the city during the industrial period. Today, more than 400 of his paintings are gathered in the corridors of the museum. As a great fan, Liam Gallagher used one of Lowry's paintings to perform the song of the song The Masterplan. He converted him into an animated film where the three members of Oasis moved to Manchester as depicted by the artist…
