Claiming the oldest public house in the city, legend wants its walls to contain more than one ghost… It must be said that they were erected in 1726 on a cemetery of Quakers, dissidents from the Anglican Church. This somewhat sordid aspect, Ye Hole in Ye Wall is a small place, with a flowery display and a beautifully preserved character. Six real ales are permanently served there.
