SPEKE HALL
Nestled in a park close to the Mersey, this remarkable half-timbered residence offers a beautiful example of Tudor architecture, with Victorian time furnishings. Built in 1530, she welcomed the rich Roman Catholic family during a turbulent religious period. The Great Hall which served as a reception room did not move and some wallpapers were designed by William Morris, a great textile designer. From the library to the living room, the rooms and the kitchen, we discover all the refinement and comfort of an elegant house with its flowered garden and trees, offering superb views of the river. A leisurely journey over time, minutes from the centre by car.
