THE PORT OF LIVERPOOL BUILDING
The building was built in 1907. At the entrance, a statue of Neptune and two globes with dolphins symbolize Liverpool's maritime power on a global scale. The building that still serves administrative offices is not officially open to the public. You can still take a look at the marble hall and stained glass windows along the staircase that represents all the countries of the British Empire. You will also notice the dome, of Italian palazzo spirit. The latter would have been taken from an architectural project conceived for the Anglican Cathedral and rejected, which included precisely a dome.
