VICTORIA GALLERY & MUSEUM
The noble red stones of this Victorian palace are already worth the detour. Released in 1892, this building was designed by Alfred Waterhouse, the great Founder of Manchester city Hall. After more than £ 8 million renovation, he was inaugurated as art gallery in 2008, owned by the University of Liverpool. Shelving has a few inescapable features: J.M.W. Turner, Jacob Epstein, Lucian Freud, Elizabeth Frink, and even two engravings of Rembrandt. At the first level, the Tate Hall Museum exhibits exhibitions on geology, oceanography, archaeology and medicine. There is also a small sculpture gallery with accomplishments by Barry Flanagan and Henry Moore, as well as a ceramic wing. Located on the ground floor, a small café offers a quiet setting for a retreat before or after the visit.
