OLD DUNGEON GHYLL ^{* * *}

Not to be confused with the New Dungeon Ghyll, which appears earlier on the road. The Old Dungeon is a real institution, in one of the most beautiful places in England. The Great Langdale Valley is absolutely enchanting and hikers particularly appreciate this address which is full of charm and authenticity. Its twelve rooms offer all the amenities you would expect, in 300-year-old walls. Single, double or triple, each has a private bathroom, sometimes on the landing. There is an exclusive bar for residents and the site houses an illustrious pub in the region. The best part: some unforgettable views and wifi access, which is not always easy in such remote areas.
