THE WORLD OF BEATRIX POTTER
Born in Victorian frénésie, Beatrix Potter spent her youth in the Kensington neighbourhood of London. It was initiated in the beauty of nature by a father who was fishing every year in the Tay River, Scotland. His early talent of watercolours was encouraged by his special teacher of drawing. Separated from his brother in a pension, his parents provided him with domestic animals to stave off his boredom. This was born Peter Rabbit, inspired by a particularly loved rabbit. As a young girl, Beatrix Potter used to write to the children of her favorite teacher, illustrating the stories she told them. She began her career with the publication of a few greeting cards, but the publishers'refusal to take care of Peter Rabbit forced her to publish his books on the books. The company was successful and all the books of the first edition found buyer! She followed up some stories of which she himself gave the French translation. His career and life ended in the Lake District in Near Sawrey near Hawkshead. The film Miss Potter, shot in the region in 2006 by Chris Noonan, recounts the existence of this-talented woman. The small museum that is dedicated to it takes the visitor in his work and his charming universe with success. All of his characters are staged in delightful scenery and with a lot of humour.
