BLACKWELL, THE ARTS AND CRAFTS HOUSE
This lovely cottage was designed in 1898 by Baillie Scott for an industrialist in Manchester, just steps from Lake Windermere. It follows the Art & crafts movement with a refined architectural style, based on the know-how of local artisans. Today, we visit the sumptuous interiors that crossed the century. In each room, the originality of the decoration is remarkable: mosaics, stained glass, harmony of shapes and colours. Among other things, the medieval spirit banquet room and the White Drawing Room have the same finesse.
