Quite traditional in the Lake District, Golden Rule is one of the favourite exits of the local people. It is probably the most picturesque of Ambleside. Stone fireplace, apparent structure, paintings with hop walls and flowers above the bar, everything is there, including the inescapable beer garden. In the programme of the festivities, a dozen beers of choice.
