Built in 1840 by a former liverpuldien surgeon, this magnificent fortress with medieval appearance in the middle of 25 hectares of green space on the shores of Lake Windermere. Today owned by the National Trust, the building reopened its doors to the public after several redevelopment. If the outside is absolutely sumptuous, the rooms are completely empty. They have still preserved their time characteristics and are particularly appreciated by children, with many activities being dedicated.
