LOUGHRIGG FELL
Loughrigg Fell only reached 335 metres, but has the advantage of being isolated, making it an excellent observation point on the surrounding area. It is going through a difficult route, even if it is sometimes muddy in bad weather. The itinerary starts on Vicarage Road in the city centre. Take the road, cross the bridge, turn right then left to go to Miller Brow. The path long stretches a wall and ends up left, leaving it on the right to move towards the summit. By the way, there are many trails but you shouldn't have trouble keeping your path until you reach the white point marking your destination. The panorama on Ferry Pike, lakes Grasmere and Windermere and on Rydal Water is breathtaking. You can go back to your steps or go north-west towards Loughrigg Terrace to make a loop to Ambleside.
