There are two hostels from YHA in Coniston. Holly How is the most modern and suitable for families, just a few hundred metres from the village. The facilities are recent and the common rooms are very well equipped, with the image of the living room and shared kitchen. The dining room has a bar and is of course a hot dish. Coppermines offers a somewhat more basic but peaceful stay at the foot of the famous Old Man of Coniston. You can reach it through a small mountain road leading to a former mining site at 150 meters above sea level.
