HILL TOP
It is the home of author and painter Beatrix Potter, now owned by the National Trust. She wrote several of her counts there and drew her inspiration from the surrounding landscapes. Very little has changed since she moved here in 1905. You can still see his furniture, decoration and personal belongings.
Beatrix Potter Gallery: still with the National Trust, the biggest fans also have the opportunity to visit an exhibition of this talented woman's watercolours in the village of Hawkshead, on Main Street (+44 153 943 6355 ; adult : £6.80, child ; 3.40, family : £17).
