TARN HOWS
This sublime spot is one of the most famous of the Lake District. And yet its landscapes are largely the work of a man, James Marshall, who in the second half of the th century shapes the places in pleasure. He plants trees, expands the lake, develops a walk… The result is more than convincing and perfectly picturesque. Under the aegis of the National Trust, the site is accessible to wheelchairs and persons with reduced mobility, making it a popular destination for families. However, everything remains very wild and in full nature. The promenades on the banks boast charming views of the hills, woods and tranquil waters.
