CATBELLS
It is now the most beautiful panorama of Keswick, Borrowdale, Derwent Water, Skiddaw and the Derwent Fells ensemble. Cat Bells is only 451 metres away and can be reached in a relatively short time and without too much difficulty, provided you climb! The least frequented path begins in Little Town in Little town, southwest of Keswick. Parking spaces are located at the exit of the village, 250 metres from the departure. A little more difficult but just as nice starts at the tiny hamlet of Manesty, side Borrowdale. The climb is steep, but the presence of the lake on your right is delightful. However, it will be a little harder to find parking. Finally, the best known road starts at Hawse End, south of the city and just steps from Derwent Bay. Parking is available on the Route road, facing one of the access to the trail. It is pretty rugged but quite beautiful and easy to locate. If you have time and energy, Cat Bells often serves as a first step towards longer hikes to Bull Crag, High Spy or Dale Head. And if you're ready to spend a long sports day, the most experienced can make a big loop by Hindscarth from Little Town.
