CARLISLE CASTLE & CUMBRIA'S MUSEUM OF MILITARY LIFE
Set out of land in the 1603 th century, this imposing castle was the main square of the Anglo-Scottish border for nearly 500 years, until the union of crowns in. The last seat took place in 1745, when the Jacobites, led by Bonnie Prince Charlie, took over the premises before coming a few months later. Today, we visit a maze of passages, parts and old cachots, where the prisoners léchaient the walls to hydrate themselves… The Military Museum in Cumbria shares the site and tells three centuries of history on local regiments, from 1702 to the present.
