What budget for activities and outings Moscow (Москва)?
The paying museums cost an average of 500 RUB, or about ten euros. The price range is between 100 and 1,000 RUB
Free of charge: the Congress Palace of the Moscow Riding School and the Museum of Industrial Culture. In addition, all museums have one free day at their discretion during the third week of each month: check their websites.
Our good plan to visit the city is the Moscow City Pass: a pass valid for 1 to 5 days and costing from 60 to 160 €, it gives you promotions, discounts and sometimes even free admission to 40 museums and monuments in the city. You also have access to guided tours and a free Russian sim card. The site: www.russiacitypass.com/en/moscow
For a walk without excursions, go to the website dedicated to sightseeing trips: https://um.mos.ru/en/routes.
To attend a match, budget between 500 and 2,000 RUB, up to 4,000 RUB the day before a derby
Finally, for banias, allow between 1 500 and 4 000 RUB for most public baths. Private baths can be privatized or offer extra treatments for an extra charge
The shopping budget is at your discretion. The city is one of the capitals of luxury and in the centre you can find all price ranges, although occasionally the exchange rate will give you a boost in purchasing power. VAT is already included in the prices and you can pay by card in most shops. Readers will sometimes offer you to pay in euros but this is not recommended as the exchange rate of the banks is not interesting
Our good plan is to go around the destocking outlets (for big brands: in the Olympiski Olympic complex; for luxury: in Belaïa Datcha) The first is the new Russian brands, which are cheaper, but also very good
Take advantage of the tax exemption! If you pay the equivalent of RUB 10,000 in a shop in one day, you can get a refund of the 18% VAT when you leave the airport. Keep the receipts
The budget for one night starts at RUB 2,000. Nightclubs also often charge admission
To find out about the best events of the moment: visit the trendy cultural website Afisha (unfortunately only in Russian), buy the weekend supplement of the Moscow Times or get the bilingual Russian-English magazine Where Moscow (where.ru), which can be found free of charge in hotels and on iTunes
What budget to eat Moscow (Москва)?
A budget for a low-price meal is 300 RUB when the gourmet meal is up to 3,000 RUB per person
Our good plan is to ask for a business lunch at noon, which most restaurants prepare. For a really modest price (between 400 and 600 RUB), you are entitled to a whole meal with starter, soup, main course, dessert and coffee!
Another good tip: the official Russian tourism website has created a special restaurant reservation site for foreigners. A large number of addresses of the city can be found there. See: www.en.resto.ru/nsk
The price of a glass (beer, cocktail, wine) is between 200 and 800 RUB (3 to 10 €).
The liveliest areas of the nightlife are Tchistye Proudy and Taganka.
What is the budget for accommodation Moscow (Москва)?
Hotels. Today there are more than a thousand hotels in Moscow. Since the beginning of 2010 the hotel complex has been considerably modernized. Moscow is the political and economic capital, a major business tourism city and the hotels, from the median price to superior comfort, are regularly full, so it is highly recommended to get there early.
Accommodation is the most expensive thing in Moscow. If you have chosen to stay in a hotel, we advise you to make a reservation (make a phone call or send an email) to make sure that there are places available and to request a written confirmation in order to get your visa. It is best to go through a travel agency that has prices for certain hotels and will take care of your visa at the same time.
Bed and breakfast. Bed and Breakfast options are also available. The local agencies will be able to provide you with host families and, if you want to make yourself comfortable, apartments for rent.
Youth hostels. Youth hostels (especially in Moscow and St. Petersburg) are slowly increasing in number but the market is still very fragile and is not part of the welcoming culture of Moscow and Russia. The establishments open and close very quickly and few of them manage to maintain a standard, reliable and stable quality of service.
Campsites. The backpacker will find it difficult to find where to put his backpack. If there are camping areas on the outskirts of cities, it is not the kind of house to arrive unexpectedly.

If we break down a budget, accommodation is the most expensive, while transport is very cheap and the museums have affordable rates. Restaurants and shops offer a wide variety of prices, but are generally comparable to those in France. If you venture into the Golden Ring, the prices are much lower.
A tight budget is 4 500 RUB per day per person: 2 500 RUB for accommodation and breakfast included, 1 000 RUB for lunch and dinner, the remaining 1 000 RUB for visits, transport and outings
An average budget is RUB 7,000 per day and per person: RUB 3,000 for a room, RUB 2,000 for two meals and RUB 2,000 for visits and outings.
Big budgets can go up very high and enjoy the luxury of the capital. There is no limit to what can be bought and negotiated in the city
