HÔTEL NATIONAL
Built in 1903 with a view directly overlooking the Kremlin and Red Square, this hotel has seen some beautiful people come and go. You can see them immortalized everywhere on the paintings that dot the premises and sometimes even on plaques at the entrance to the rooms. Lenin in particular spent some time here before moving to the Kremlin. The National has a top-of-the-range service that can't be reproached, as well as one of the most beautiful views at breakfast time (right on the Ivères doors). The only downside for us: its very kitsch decoration.
