Although Meyerhold's wish to build a theater of the future with Gropius-like architecture was not realized, this 1940s concert hall is still one of the most famous in the world. It is particularly known for the brilliance of its 7,800-pipe organ, built by Czech masters, and its exceptional acoustics. The repertoire is very classical, but the art of ballet is brought to perfection.
