This estate is the child of Count Sheremetyev's imagination and immense fortune. The Count was a patron of the theater here and the castle was built and gradually enlarged for the purpose of performances. At that time it was the largest wooden building in the country and it is still in a very good state of preservation. Today it is a museum with a beautiful collection of objects, furniture and paintings from the 19th and 20th centuries. Opposite the building is the 540 meter high Ostankino broadcasting tower, the highest in Europe.
