Mosfilm is one of the major film production companies dating back to the USSR era. If its size is not comparable to Hollywood in terms of budget, its role was essentially the same since its foundation in 1920: to promote Russian cinema. Today, the company is going through a more difficult period since its privatization, but it is becoming popular again. You can visit its huge film village which is based on Sparrow Hill and see with your own eyes the frames of Eisentein and Tarkosvki's films.
