The most interesting point of the visit is undoubtedly the Savva-Storojevski Monastery with its 22 m thick and 8.50 m high wall and its Cathedral of the Nativity (Rozhdestvenski Sobor) which is very similar to the one in Zvenigorod, but less refined. The tour begins with the refectory (1652-1654), which flanks the Church of the Transfiguration, built in 1695 by Tsarina Sophia, whose apartments are still preserved in the museum of the former monastery.
